Dear Diary,

Today I made a new friend. His name is Dennis. Dennis is about 65 years old. He likes to garden but he needed help pruning his cedars. I helped him. Dennis watched me carefully to make sure I did not step on his flowers while I was pruning his trees. It was a little nervewracking. He said he was surprised that I had a university degree and worked as a landscaper. I told him some days I was surprised too.

I came home and the 40 year old man who rents the suite below me chose tonight to sing karaoke with his girlfriend. I think he may have had a few drinks. He sang “Hotel California” and she sang “I Will Always Love You”. It was a little awkward for everyone in the neighborhood, because everyone in the neighborhood could hear them. I left the house. I did not want the people next door to think I was the one yodeling “I will always love yoooooooooooooooooooooooouuuuuuu” off-key.

I went to the local basketball court and shot some hoops. The sun was golden and there were little kids playing on the swings with their parents pushing them. There was no one singing. When I grow up I think I will play in the NBA like Steve Nash. He is MVP of the NBA. That is all for now.
