By some quirk of the receiver wiring my car radio’s FM transmission will sporadically break into loud, sharp bursts of static - one minute I’m listening to some indie folkster whisper-sing off-key while accompanied by the sound of their heart slowly breaking beneath an ironic t-shirt (courtesy of KEXP), the next I’m swerving wildly across lanes of traffic in surprise when I am accosted by an ear piercing whine and the buzzing of the angry electronic beehive that lurks in the empty spaces of your radio.
