Solstice songs and whatnot: some favorite songs of 2008 so far. June 25, 2008
Posted by thomas in : Uncategorized , 6 comments So this a list, because we all love lists, and we all compulsively read them on blog posts and restaurant menus and public washroom walls. Lists provide some sense of order and purpose to otherwise mundane and disparate elements of our lives. This list describes some of my favorite songs of the current year, which is already half over (a fact I find kind of shocking and unbelievable). Anyway, these songs were not necessarily released this year, but they’ve made their way through my party shuffle playlist frequently at different points the past six months, causing me to do a party shuffle of my own (think of a cross between Elijah Wood’s dancy dance and this), and I wanted to share. So, in no particular order, I present to you, the list: (more…)Feats of strength, streams of profanity and more! June 6, 2008

Pictured above: Kevin Garnett in a moment of elation.
A while back I had a post about vocation, golf, apocalypse, and NFL linebacker Shawne Merriman. I just wanted to take this opportunity to say that I think Kevin Garnett deserves consideration in the discussion of professional sports figures turned potential post-apocalyptic warlords.
Also, Celtics in 7. (Your thoughts Harrison? I know, we have slacked mightily in our basketball analysis.)
