About
Thomas Cairns currently lives in Seattle, Washington where he wanders around the city looking lost in thought, but he wishes to assure you he is simply lost and his look of concentration does not conceal any deep mental activity but merely expresses his concern at the fact he does not know where he is going.
Thomas graduated in 2006 from Trinity Western University in Langley, BC with a degree in English and shortly thereafter made the logical leap into a position as a professional landscaper. He was often very dirty and unshaven. In the fall of 2007 Thomas married an amazing young woman named Ruth, which, he will tell you, quite honestly, has been his best decision of the past 23 years. He loves her madly, deeply.
Like most English majors Thomas has book manuscripts he is working on and others that he has torn to shreds in a frustrated rage. And like most other English majors with a manuscript on the go he dreams of the day when he is showered with accolades as a best-selling author…although, most days, he would just settle with having written something that others would like to read and maybe even recommend to their friends.
Thomas is a big fan of NBA basketball player Steve Nash, run-on sentences and spicy foods. His plans for the future remain remarkably unplanned but he expects to return to school at some point with an eye on teaching at a high school or college or perhaps even joining that field so often abused in 19th century novels by virtue of having such bumbling and pathetic particpants: the ministry.
Thomas counts Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Dostoevsky and Annie Dillard among his favorite authors and is fascinated by theology and neuroscience and most things in between and beyond. Perhaps this wide range of curiosity will pique your own and you can join the discussion or simply browse the various posts and pages and search for grammatical errors, of which there are many.
